The Australian Office of Financial Management (AOFM) is responsible for the central debt financing operations of the Australian Government. It also manages the Government's cash position to ensure payment obligations can always be met. The AOFM is also responsible for the management and execution of financial market investments on behalf of the Government.
As Deputy Chief Executive Officer, you will play an integral role in leading teams of experienced markets and funding specialists whilst providing strategic and operational leadership for the AOFM and critical support to the CEO. As Deputy CEO, you will lead the teams who deliver debt management strategies. You will build strong partnerships and represent the agency at senior forums nationally and internationally.
The AOFM is seeking an outstanding senior executive with highly developed leadership and stakeholder engagement skills. You will be a strong people manager with high emotional intelligence. A champion of diversity, the ideal candidate will be a quick and strategic thinker able to build organisational capabilities and successfully lead and manage change. We are looking for leaders with an advanced understanding of debt financing in financial markets and a familiarity with the requirements of sovereign debt portfolio management. Our ideal candidate will have a proven ability to build strong relationships across Australian and global funding markets and provide timely, accurate and impartial advice. You will have senior leadership experience in financial markets or in a related role in the public sector.
