We are seeking an experienced Senior RACF Security Engineer to lead the design and architecture of our client's mainframe security framework on a long-term contract basis.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing RACF security structures to ensure robust protection, compliance, and scalability.
You will leverage your expertise to align RACF security with broader enterprise security frameworks.Key Responsibilities:Design and Architect RACF security structures to protect critical resources, ensuring scalability and optimal security.Develop and implement security policies, objectives, and strategies based on business and compliance requirements.Lead the design and integration of RACF with enterprise security solutions and frameworks.Ensure the architecture of RACF systems aligns with organizational needs, including data protection and resource access models.Design and implement RACF exits to extend and enhance security functionality.Define and establish access control models and resource ownership structures to strengthen security governance.Lead customization and continuous enhancements of RACF, improving its security capabilities and performance.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mainframe security with web, network, and other enterprise security layers.Leverage zSecure for administration, reporting, and compliance monitoring, ensuring the RACF system's resilience.Use SMF records for auditing, security reporting, and forensic investigations, ensuring a proactive security stance.Contribute to the overall security architecture design to ensure mainframe systems align with security best practices.Required Skills & Experiences:10+ years of experience in mainframe security, with a focus on RACF architecture and design.Expertise in RACF design, installation, and customization to align with security needs.Strong understanding of access control models, security governance, and the integration of RACF with enterprise security frameworks.Proven ability to design and implement RACF exits for enhanced security controls.Experience in performance tuning and optimizing RACF databases and recovery procedures.In-depth knowledge of JCL, SAS, and programming languages such as Python, Assembler, PL/I, and COBOL.Proficient in using zSecure and analyzing SMF records for security audits and compliance reporting.Strong collaboration skills to work across teams and design security solutions aligned with business goals.Preferred Experiences:Experience in financial services or large enterprise environments.Familiarity with modern security frameworks and compliance standards.Experience with mainframe security automation and integration with SIEM solutions.If you are passionate about architecting and designing secure mainframe systems and want to make a significant impact in a leading enterprise, apply now!About CPT Global:CPT Global is an independent IT services provider and technology consultancy with expertise across the IT stack (systems, applications, databases, security, transactions, networks) and is best known for its world-class mainframe expertise.CPT has a team of approximately 200 experts with long tenure and diverse skill sets.
