A position for an experienced Engineering/Maintenance Manager has become available with our manufacturing client in South Gippsland. About the role The Engineering & Maintenance Manager will have a crucial role in guaranteeing the reliability and efficiency of all manufacturing equipment and services. You will mainly be responsible for the management of capital works within the required cost, quality, deliverable outcomes, and safety standards. Additionally, another main component is the management of both daily and longer-term maintenance functions of our client’s full operating facilities. The role will oversee all maintenance processes, systems, and the team to achieve their organisational goals. There will be several direct reports underneath this role, including both the Maintenance & Engineering teams. You will be reporting to the GM of Supply Chain & Operations. You will also be responsible for managing all maintenance workers who work on a 24/7 shift rotation. The engineering staff look to this role for technical support and direction, so prior knowledge in engineering is highly valued. The role is permanent full-time based out South Gippsland. The remuneration for the role is $150k super. Full-time hours are required however there is flexibility to move the start/finish times around for the right candidate. Duties Ownership of site capital budget in relation to engineering projects Oversee implementation and cost control of capital projects Lead and develop the process engineering team Innovate solutions to continuously improve engineering processes and systems Manage store and inventory control to ensure the availability of required spare parts and materials without overstocking to avoid redundancy. Develop and sustain a long-term asset replacement program for the company, identifying critical equipment, performance expectations, and replacement schedules, integrated into capital planning processes. Prepare and manage monthly maintenance budgets and forecasts, including shutdown planning, and implement measures to stay within budget in case of overspending. Provide monthly reports on agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), with corrective actions as necessary. Provide leadership and guidance to the maintenance team Utilize SAP S4 Hana for efficient maintenance management. Foster collaboration with the production, engineering, and quality teams Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or reliability engineering, or a related field (desired) Manufacturing environment experience, specifically in dairy (desirable) Strong leadership and collaboration skills Driven by results and excels under pressure Capable of prioritizing and making decisions Proficient in budgeting, purchasing, and managing service contracts Strong business acumen and commercial capabilities Adaptable and excels in a dynamic, 24/7 manufacturing environment Knowledge of SAP or a similar software How to apply All applications must be submitted via the GBS Recruitment website - www.gbsrecruitment.com.au (Job No. 866571) and include a current resume and cover letter outlining your experience.
