WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
About the Team
This role will work alongside seven other Production Engineers and will form part of our greater Operations Planning and Control department which also includes Production Planners and PMO’s. The role will be based full time at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCEOE) in Redbank.
About the Role
As a Production Engineer you will be responsible for defining and documenting the production processes and associated activities to build military vehicles, once materials are delivered to the production floor.
The Production Engineer will collaborate with onsite and international production teams to determine and implement the most efficient production / assembly outcomes, based around Lean principals.
As Production Engineer, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:
1. Developing, documenting and maintaining Manufacturing Work Instructions (SOPs);
2. Working collaboratively with the Production team to determine the most efficient assembly methods and resolving production issues;
3. Liaising with the Configuration Management team to develop and maintain an accurate production Bill of Materials (BoM);
4. Interfacing with the Quality team to ensure the relevant quality checks and procedures are built into the assembly sequence; and
5. Defining the layouts of the various assembly lines including material delivery points and racking, assembly equipment and specialist tooling.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
6. Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial) or relevant discipline;
7. Experience in Production engineering environment (preferably automotive / heavy industry / high volume manufacturing);
8. Experience in welding processes and IWE accreditation (advantageous);
9. Practical hands-on skills of different types of assembly processes;
10. Experience of using / implementing LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement;
11. Working knowledge of Root Cause Analysis tools;
12. Experience in working with ERP/MRP systems (preferably SAP) to create PBOMs, routings, standard networks;
13. Excellent organization skills and ability to prioritize and deliver multiple tasks at the same time;
14. Ability to logically solve complex technical problems;
15. Ability to travel interstate and internationally when required; and
16. Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
