Who will you be working with? This role reports to the Operations Director
Where is the position located? This is a full-time role based in Queensland or Kent Town.
As a Support Engineer you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external customers. You will drive customer satisfaction through service excellence, installing, maintaining and repairing wayside monitoring equipment (Vision and Acoustic systems) in the rail industry.
What will your typical day look like?
7. Mandatory requirement to be able to travel frequently and work in the field. (one week per month)
8. Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with company standards, compliance standards and customer requirements.
9. Ensure timely completion of Service Requests including the associated service ticket closure requirements and timesheets.
10. Install equipment in a high quality, professional manner with strong attention to detail in accordance with the company standards, compliance standards and customer requirements.
11. Update and maintain asset management records and register
12. Provide timely and professional support to customers in the form of:
13. Routine system and data quality monitoring.
14. Technical support – remote and infield.
15. Routine site visits.
16. Non-routine (corrective) site visits.
17. Software deployment.
18. New system installation.
19. Provide timely and professional engineering support to the business in the form of:
20. Identifying, testing and implementing new / alternative / replacement components for the KinetiX suite of products
21. Producing technical documentation / procedures
22. Develop good working relationships with customers and leverage these to assist in developing new and repeat business.
23. Help establish, improve and maintain quality control processes and systems and documentation.
24. Retain ownership of the service requests and problems until they are resolved.
25. The Field Service Engineer is required to keep the customer and service manager informed on progress.
26. Keep management and commercial account managers fully aware of all developments in the installed base.
27. Manage time appropriately based on job urgency, part availability, and customer expectations.

30. Electronic / Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technician or equivalent electrical trade.
31. Strong mechanical aptitude is required.
32. The role will have a strong focus on Electronic, Vision, Laser and acoustic systems.
33. Networking & PC skills experience is required.
34. Experience working in the rail industry or equivalent heavy industry/technical industry
35. Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
36. Ability to synthesize complex issues and communicate in simple messages.
37. Solid problem-solving skills (ability to manage and resolve conflict, communicate issues, and propose solutions to both internal team members and external customers).
38. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
39. The ability to travel across Australia & NZ is required. Global travel may be required to support installation works.
40. Possess a valid Australian C Class Drivers License.
41. Competency in the installation, setup, maintenance and troubleshooting of software, electrical and mechanical systems.
42. Competency in the use of common mechanical and electrical discipline hand tools.
43. Competency in the use of Microsoft Windows operating systems and the Microsoft Office suite of products.
44. Ability to create formal documentation: e.g. information request responses, quotations, work instructions, product documentation.
45. The ability to work under pressures of weekly, monthly and project deadlines.
46. Installation, configuration and maintenance of server systems including operating systems
