With a pipeline of large-scale solar, BESS and wind projects progressing toward financial close, they are seeking a visionary Head of Construction to establish and lead their construction function nationally. About the Role Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Construction will be responsible for creating and scaling the organisation’s internal capability to deliver utility-scale renewable energy projects. You’ll be instrumental in supporting the development team as projects advance to FID and will take accountability for the safe, on-time and on-budget execution of projects under construction. Key Responsibilities Build and lead the internal construction function to deliver utility-scale energy projects including data centres, solar farms, battery storage systems, and wind assets. Support the development and investment teams in progressing projects to financial close, including construction input into bids, designs, procurement strategies, and delivery models. Establish project delivery systems, processes, governance frameworks and compliance protocols to suit an in-house developer-contractor model. Lead the negotiation and finalisation of EPC, BOP or multi-contract arrangements that meet project and investor requirements. Oversee project execution, including contractor management, health and safety, quality assurance, budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder communication. Implement scalable delivery practices that allow the team to manage multiple concurrent projects as the business grows. Recruit and develop a high-performing internal construction and project delivery team. Provide detailed reporting to executives, boards, investors and other key stakeholders. Ensure risks are identified, mitigated and managed effectively throughout all project phases. Maintain high ethical, safety and environmental standards across all projects. About You You are a strategic construction leader with deep experience in utility-scale energy or infrastructure projects. You’ve built or significantly shaped project delivery teams or EPC businesses and are comfortable working across both early-stage and execution phases. Required Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline. 10 years of experience in infrastructure or energy construction, with at least 5 in a leadership or head of delivery role. Proven ability to set up and lead a project delivery capability within a developer, contractor or EPC business. Strong understanding of large-scale renewable projects (solar, wind, BESS) and associated delivery challenges. Experience supporting projects through FID, contracting, procurement and execution phases. Skilled in managing multidisciplinary teams and external consultants. Familiar with construction licensing, HSE compliance, quality systems, and regulatory frameworks in Australia. Commercially astute with contract negotiation experience. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Familiarity with Primavera P6, MS Project and project reporting tools. Why Join?
