As the organisation continues to grow and transform, a hands-on opportunity has arisen for a senior risk professional to make an impact in this newly created role.Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Risk, the primary purpose of the role is to provide subject matter expertise, guidance & 2nd line assurance across the bank’s enterprise credit and financial risks. These include credit quality, large exposures and counterparties, capital adequacy, liquidity and market risk management. You will enable the business to effectively implement risk governance and management processes across all credit and financial risks, whilst providing strong 2nd line oversight and challenge across the bank. Tactically the role will:Support the maintenance and monitoring of the bank’s enterprise credit and financial risk position and related artefacts;Work with 1st line teams to embed the risk management framework and related practices, providing advice and input as needed;Complete core activities such as risk assessments, control testing, incident capture, reporting, and assurance;Analyse relevant risk incidents and control failures to identify trends, isolate root causes, and enable sustainable treatments;Promote and foster a positive risk culture across the bank.You will be a qualified risk practitioner with at least five years’ experience working in a 2nd line risk function within financial services, supported by a thorough understanding of regulatory and prudential requirements. Ideally you will have supported a credit or financial/treasury risk function (i.e. lending, portfolio analytics, model risk, and stress testing), and be skilled in risk and control identification, control design, and testing. A trusted advisor known for working effectively with stakeholders at all levels (including 1st line) to foster, embed, and challenge risk practices. An ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, unpacking data to offer meaningful insights, and working with multiple systems and processes concurrently is essential.
