About the role
We regularly recruit Law Graduates throughout the year which is dependent on specific practice area needs. Our Melbourne office encompasses over 10 different practice groups including Corporate & Commercial, Building & Construction, Property & Leasing, Workplace Law, Administrative Law, Insurance and Litigation.
Each year our Partners and lawyers are recognised in several publications by their clients and peers as experts in their field.
We care about and invest in future talent. As a Law Graduate at Moray & Agnew you will work closely with and be mentored by Partners and senior lawyers.
Following a structured induction program, the invaluable experience you will gain will be 'learned on the job'. You will also have access to our learning and development program, our mentoring program and the Emerging Lawyers Network.
The experience you can expect to gain depends on the practice area, although, generally you will gain experience in:
• Legal research tasks
• Preparing court documents for litigated matters
• Discovery of documents
• Drafting legal documents and correspondence
• Attending client meetings and shadowing mediations and informal settlements
• Running small litigated matters from start to finish.

About you
You will have completed your law degree and may be currently completing your post graduate studies and PLT or about to start your post graduate studies.
You are motivated, resourceful and enthusiastic. You should be eager to learn and develop and be passionate about a career in law.
You will have strong academic results - and beyond your academic successes, you also possess the ability to apply your critical thinking skills.
The work requires attention to detail, practical problem-solving skills, initiative and strategic thinking. We are also looking for someone with a good sense of humour and a desire to work closely with a group of high energy and hardworking successful lawyers.
To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following qualities:
* Enthusiasm and initiative
* The ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
* Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Importantly, you have a team-oriented personality and thrive working in a team environment.
