About the Role
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate in the field of computer vision and deep learning to make a significant contribution to our research programs. This is an
outstanding opportunity for researchers with a strong interest in computer vision and deep learning to continue their professional development with an institute renowned for its high-quality research.
The position reports to the Director of The ReLER Lab, Prof Xiaojun Chang
If successful in applying for this role, you will:
• Conduct high quality research in the areas of computer vision and deep learning
• Generate and sustain high quality research publication outputs (in particular in top Journals/Conferences in the areas of computer vision and deep learning
• Contribute to the School and the Faculty's research strategies, performance indicators and targets
• Co-supervise higher degree research (HDR) students in Information Technology, ensuring their high-quality research achievements and successful on-time completion
• Apply for external research grants and fellowships, and/or actively seek other appropriate funds from an externally funded agency or source
As the successful applicant, you will have a demonstrated track record in the area of computer vision and deep learning with experience in the following topics; tiny machine learning, neural architecture search, knowledge distillation and network compression. You will be self-motivated, and show initiative and leadership capabilities in your research delivery. You will also have;
• A PhD Degree in Computer Science or a very closely related field
• Sound knowledge of efficient deep learning, edge computing
• High quality publication record
• Excellent experience in supervising and teaching in the area of computer science and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
Remuneration
Base Salary Range: $91,390 to $111,307 pa (Level A)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
