A new and exciting opportunity exists to be part of a dynamic team at this venue located on Victoria’s beautiful Mornington Peninsula.
We are seeking a qualified Demi Chef to work directly with our Head Chef in managing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. Successful candidates will have a strong work ethic and the ability to perform in a fast-paced kitchen. In return, you will be provided with a workplace where you will continue to learn and develop your skills under the guidance of a supportive management team.
Duties:
1. Menu planning
2. Estimating food and labour costs
3. Liaising with suppliers
4. Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
5. Ensuring hygiene regulations are met
6. Freezing and preserving foods
Qualifications:
1. Completion of a relevant Commercial Cookery qualification including Cert IV and a Diploma of Hospitality are a minimum requirement.
2. Minimum of 3 years experience is also a requirement for this role.
Experience Required:
1. Show sound cookery techniques and ability to learn new ones
2. Work well under pressure
3. Team oriented
4. Positive, punctual and professional approach
5. Familiar with food safety and OHS guidelines
6. Attention to detail
7. Competency with ordering and managing stock
