What you will do as the IT Security Officer
We are looking for candidates who can work with broad direction to perform a variety of IT security tasks, supporting business processes and making a significant contribution to achieving organisational objectives. This includes identifying and mitigating security risks, ensuring compliance with security policies and frameworks, and providing expert advice on cybersecurity best practices. The role also involves collaborating with stakeholders to enhance security resilience and drive continuous improvement in the agency's security posture.
In this role, you will:
o Assist in strengthening the agency's security culture by contributing to the development, implementation, and monitoring of security principles, policies, standards, and guidelines.
o Support the creation of cybersecurity reports, policies, and processes, including analysis of detection and response statistics, security incidents, and breaches.
o Provide support in developing guidance on various information and cybersecurity issues.
o Develop and facilitate initiatives that enhance security awareness and compliance among ACCC staff.
About you
In order to succeed in the role, you will have:
o Relevant tertiary qualifications or experience in cyber security, IT, systems engineering, or a related field.
o Demonstrated skills and abilities with a current cyber security tool set to maintain and enhance the cyber security posture of the Agency.
o Clear, concise, and articulate oral and written communication skills. A demonstrated ability to engage effectively and work cohesively with internal and external stakeholders.
o Proven experience in IT security operations coordination, planning, and incident responses. Strong ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information.
o Demonstrated skills in providing customer-focused cyber security advice, technical support, and troubleshooting.
In addition, the successful candidate must either currently possess or be able to obtain and maintain an Australian Federal Government security clearance (Negative Vetting Level 1).
