THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for L2 operational support & maintenance for VMware infrastructure.
Team-based role operating in a follow-the-sun model to support global infrastructure.
You'll work a 7 day fortnight undertaking 12 hour day shift.
Key elements of the role:
6. L2 operational support, maintenance, monitoring, testing, & optimisation of virtual infrastructure (Block).
7. Support & manage VMware (ESXi, vSphere, NSX, vRealize Operations); Cisco UCS, Cisco switches, EMC storage.
8. Diagnose system failures & handle break/fix.
9. Implement software/hardware changes to rectify current/future problems.
10. Incident & Change Management.
11. Performance & capacity management.
12. Patch management.
13. Work a 7 day fortnight doing 12 hour day shifts (either 6am-6pm or 7am-7pm).
14. This is a full time in-office role (parking available).
REQUIRED BACKGROUND / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE / PERSONAL QUALITIES
Suitable for an operationally focused L2 Infrastructure Engineer with well-developed VMware and data center experience inside complex enterprise environments.
Ideal for someone who enjoys the flexibility of working fewer days in a fortnight than a standard 'Mon-Fri 9-5' role.
The following is needed:
15. Proven operational experience supporting VMware (ESXi, vSphere), Cisco UCS, Cisco Fabric Interconnects, and EMC Storage (or similar).
16. Data center experience is preferred.
17. Strong IT Operations background providing operational support, monitoring, troubleshooting & break/fix.
18. Good knowledge of Incident & Change Management.
19. VCP certification (or study) is highly regarded.
20. ITIL & ITSM tool knowledge/experience.
21. Display logical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
22. Comfortable working onsite in the office full time on a 7 day fortnight doing 12 hour day shifts.
This is a full-time permanent role and is offering $110,000 to $120,0000 (plus super) + bonus potential.
