Operating for more than 45 years and employing more than 1,300 staff around Australia, Mind is a leading employer of people with lived experience of mental health challenges, recognising their unique ability to connect with and motivate clients and guide recovery.About the roleThe Adult and Older Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing services, otherwise known as “Locals”, act as a front door to the mental health service system and provides a continuum of care and support including clinical interventions, wellbeing supports, and therapeutic support through an integrated mental health and alcohol and other drug framework approach.We are seeking a self-motivated Team Leader (Lived Expertise) for a permanent, fulltime (38 hours per week) position based in ECHUCA. You will lead delivery of services to consumers, carers, families and supporters as defined in the Locals Service Model whilst overseeing service requirements and liaising with a number of stakeholders both internally and within the community.Key responsibilitiesLead a dedicated team in line with organisational quality processes and policies, agreed priorities and strategies to ensure quality consumer service and required targets are met.Coach staff to problem solve, develop creative solutions and remain motivated in meeting consumer, family, carer and supporters needs and preferences.Provide practice supervision to staff who are providing direct support to individual consumers and facilitate reflective practice.Provide opportunities to support family, carer and supporter practice.Engage with leaders across other services within Mind to build local pathways to support service access.What you’ll bringTertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Peer Work, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Community Services or other professional field as designated by Mind are preferred, and/or equivalent experience in a similar industry.Experience in Community Services, Mental Health, Disability, Social Welfare, Housing, Healthcare or Government sectors is required.Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the application of theoretical approaches, practices and appropriate service responses including family inclusive practice, trauma informed theory, cognitive behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing and harm reduction therapy.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to consult, negotiate and influence peers, stakeholders and government agencies with diplomacy to achieve effective outcomes.BenefitsSalary packaging up to $15,899 p.a. allows you to allocate a portion of your pre-tax income to cover living expenses (e.g. rent, mortgage, child care, car leasing expenses etc.)Generous leave entitlements including 8 weeks paid parental leave, 17.5% annual leave loading, and Monthly Accumulated Day off (Full time employees).Fitness Passport - Access to our corporate health and fitness program, providing you and family with access to a wide choice of fitness facilities.Work flexibility arrangements available for maintaining your work-life balance.Interested?To apply visit Mind Careers - reference number 497043.
