We support our people to be the best version of themselves, physically and mentally, so they can be the best support for our customers.Career development; You’ll have a real say in shaping the future direction of the business and your own career because we believe that when you grow, Bupa grows.Access to leading training and professional development - supported by our quality education team and expert clinicians with a commitment to clinical excellence.Comprehensive induction and buddy program - we set you up for success from the outset and ease you into your new role with support.Be recognised and rewarded - Bupa Love Reward & Recognition Program ensures that the gratitude of our residents and their families is passed on to staff who deserve it.DutiesRun an efficient, high-quality dining and catering service for the residents of the care home.Collaborate with the Lifestyle team to ensure all activities and events are appropriately planned and catered for.Ensure any specialist resident dietary requirements are met (e.g. diabetes, weight loss or gain).Prepare the main dishes for lunch and dinner.Oversee the washing, preparation, and cooking of all foods, including vegetables, soups, sauces, gravies, desserts, sandwiches, salads, bread, and rolls.Ensure that all meals are prepared fresh daily utilising seasonal produce.Manage safe and correct processes in food purchasing, storage, handling, and preparation.Implement infection control principles and practices as per infection control policies.Complete paperwork promptly and correctly as per duty list and Quality & Assurance Processes.Identify training needs and requirements of Catering Staff, including changes to processes or resident requirements.Skills and ExperienceCertificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is essential.Aged Care / Hotel / Restaurant experience preferred.Ideally, you would have previous experience in a similar role.Effective time management, organisational skills, and budget management.Previous experience in leading a team is desirable and managing a budget.Understanding of Food Audits.Demonstrated experience working within a multidisciplinary team and ability to effectively liaise with stakeholders.Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service focus.Bupa cares about creating and sustaining a safe and inclusive workplace where our team members feel they belong regardless of gender identity, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, religion or life stage.
