Support Worker – Female Candidates Encouraged | Night Shifts | Personal Care FocusEmpowering People In Communities (EPIC) is a not-for-profit organisation that offers disability support and community services in the Pilbara and Goldfields.Our aim is to empower clients through a range of services that support many people to live a more connected life through community.Location: Karratha/Roebourne*We are currently considering applications from local residents only*Part-time or casual opportunity, up to 38 hours per week.Must be available for night shifts, including sleepovers.We’re seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers who are available for overnight shifts and have a strong focus on personal care. This role provides a variety of support services including personal care, domestic and lifestyle support, and community inclusion, all guided by the participant’s individual NDIS support plan.Due to the specific support needs of participants, female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.Duties and Responsibilities:Provide high-quality support that enhances independence, encourages participation, and aligns with individual goals.Deliver culturally appropriate support that respects the diversity of participants.Take direction from the person being supported, their family, and EPIC’s Client Coordinator.Maintain professionalism and positive relationships with clients, families, and colleagues.Accurately complete documentation, including case notes and incident reports, using EPIC’s systems.Assist with personal care and daily living tasks, particularly during night-time hours.Perform other duties as required by your manager.Current First Aid Certificate (or ability to obtain within three months)NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain)WA “C” class driver’s licence (or overseas equivalent with valid temporary visa)Working with Children Check (mandatory)Availability for night shifts and sleepoversDemonstrated respect for people with disability and commitment to inclusionAbility to maintain confidentiality and communicate effectivelyWillingness to work across a variety of shifts, including weekends and after-hoursPrevious experience providing personal careExperience supporting people with disability (formally or informally)Experience working with childrenComplex care experience (e.g. PEG feeding, fluids, puree diets)Manual handling experience or qualificationKnowledge of NDIS Quality and SafeguardsCertificate IV in Disability or Community ServicesWhy join the EPIC Team?Above Award RatesSalary Sacrifice up to $15,900 per annumAdditional leave after 12 months service (part-time only)Quarterly bonus schemeEmployee Assistance ProgramTraining opportunitiesCorporate Health Insurance DiscountsAccess to discounts at over 9,000 retail locations across AustraliaApplication Deadline: 15/04/2024Shortlisting and interviews may commence as applications are received.
