The company is seeking a Power Systems Engineer – BESS to take a leading role in the design, integration, and analysis of BESS projects across various grid applications. This position is integral to ensuring that these systems meet performance standards while enhancing overall grid stability and energy security. Key Responsibilities: Design, model, and simulate BESS solutions for integration into electrical grids Develop power system studies, including load flow, stability, and fault analysis for BESS projects Collaborate with project teams to ensure BESS systems meet design, operational, and safety standards Optimise BESS performance for maximum efficiency and grid reliability Evaluate technical specifications and support procurement of BESS equipment Work with utility companies, grid operators, and regulators to ensure compliance with connection standards Conduct system impact studies and propose mitigation strategies for grid integration Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards relevant to BESS projects Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to commissioning Lead testing and validation of BESS systems in real-world grid environments Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends in power systems and energy storage Prepare detailed technical reports and present findings to stakeholders Ensure project documentation is maintained and adheres to best practices Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred) 5 years’ experience in power systems engineering, ideally with a focus on energy storage or renewable energy Strong understanding of electrical grids, power system analysis, and integration of distributed energy resources Proficiency in power system modelling and simulation tools (e.g., PSS/E, PSCAD, DIgSILENT) Experience in designing and implementing Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Familiarity with grid connection standards, codes, and regulatory frameworks Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in power systems design Excellent communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders Ability to work on multiple projects and manage competing priorities Current Australia working rights are essential (sponsorship is not available for this position) Benefits: Competitive salary package with generous bonus incentives Lead cutting-edge projects in the renewable energy and energy storage sectors Career development opportunities in a rapidly growing industry Collaborative and supportive work environment Flexible working arrangements and employee wellness programmes Please submit your CV and cover letter outlining your experience in power systems engineering and BESS projects.
