An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse to lead and deliver person centred nursing care at an advanced level and assist the AODS multidisciplinary team to provide a range of services for people experiencing substance use problems in a harm minimisation framework.
This position involves providing high quality care to consumers through comprehensive assessment and specialised psychological treatments, as well as a focus on staff development through education, supervision, and organisation of in-service training.
Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:
1. Provide comprehensive assessment, care and treatment for people identified with alcohol and drug problems: clinical assessment, risk assessment, case-management, problem solving, brief intervention and micro-counselling skills.
2. Provide a range of clinical assessment and treatment skills, including offering individual engagement with consumers in the form of cognitive behavioural informed therapies and facilitation of community therapeutic groups.
3. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in delivering phone intake and referral, support and advice to service providers, delivery of Needle and Syringe Program (NSP), Queensland Opioid Treatment Program (OTP), facilitating psychoeducation groups and Counselling and Therapy (CAT).
4. Provide effective assessment, planning, management and evaluation of client outcomes at an advanced level which supports harm reduction responses that build the community with the lowest possible levels of alcohol and other drug related harm.
Remuneration value up to $9892.50 p.m., comprising salary rates: $54.44 to $58.30 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 6 (1)) (Fixed-Term Temporary Flexible Part-Time, 68.4hrs p.f. for up to 6 months).
