Chandler Macleod are currently recruiting for a Human Resources Officer for our client, a Local Council based in Sydney.
This is an initial contract until May 2025, with the potential for extension. The pay rate is $42.93/hour + super for 35 hours per week.
The Human Resources Officer will be required to undertake HR duties and recruitment for the Council, as well as provide professional, accurate and timely advice to internal and external customer enquiries.
Key Accountabilities:
* Support the effective management of Council’s HR, Recruitment and industrial activities
* Assist in developing, reviewing, updating and implementing Human Resource system documentation (e.g. policies, procedures, position descriptions)
* Ensure that Council’s HR system documentation are properly administered and communicated throughout council
* Maintain knowledge of and provide advice on relevant internal and external HR, recruitment and industrial information
Candidate Requirements:
* Relevant qualifications in Human Resources and/or relevant experience in HR, Recruitment and Employee Relations
* Demonstrated strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
* Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary human resource practices and current issues
* Computer literate in Microsoft Office, and the ability to quickly learn systems and applications
* A sound knowledge of Commonwealth, State and Local Government Legislation impacting on HR, Recruitment and Employee Relations (desirable)
* Current Class C driver’s licence
