With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network is used to transport bulk products, passenger and general freight, including steel and a vast array of consumer items such as groceries, electrical goods and other items for both import and export markets.The Operations teams work within several complex and challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes for its customers, stakeholders and the community.About the OpportunityOur dedicated team of Signal Design Engineers provide signalling design services and specialised technical advice to ARTC maintenance and project delivery teams, as well as Third Parties and Major Construction Projects, contributing towards the completion of high quality, safe and cost-effective packages of work. This includes:Providing technical advice and engineering solutions to maximise the reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety of existing and future signalling and level crossing systems.Delivering project scope through the provision of signalling design services that adhere to reliability, availability, maintainability, safety, ease of construction, environmental and whole of life requirements.What do we want from you?An engineering degree or equivalent industry-recognised training qualification, with the ability to qualify for membership of the Institute of Railway Signal Engineers (IRSE).Extensive knowledge of signal design processes, standards, and procedures.Knowledge of signalling principles, circuit design and operation, signalling components and the implications of working with other disciplines.Demonstrated proficiency in the use of CAD systems and general IT literacy.Demonstrated experience in contributing to the delivery of multi-discipline projects in both ‘greenfield’ and ‘brownfield’ environments.Proven high level communication skills.Drivers Licence – Class C.Understanding of the rail industry and safeworking rules that operate in each state.Qualifications or demonstrated experience in and knowledge of risk management principles and processes (ISO 31000).What will you get from us?Talk to us about flexible working options.Competitive remuneration.Resources to support your health and wellbeing and development.Novated leasing options, as well as discounts and support programs.24/7 Employee Assistance Program for all employees and their direct family members.Our Organisation and CultureAt ARTC, we’re more than just a rail network.
