About the role
Legal Aid WA’s Family Law Practice has an opportunity for a senior family lawyer, with a commitment to social justice, to join our Family Law team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience as an Independent Children's Lawyer in the Family Court and as a Child Representative in the Children's Court. Significant trial experience in both jurisdictions is essential for appointment to this role. In addition, you must have well developed negotiation skills and the ability to manage staff and challenging clients.
They will play an important role as trial counsel as well mentoring junior lawyers to assist them to develop their skills in all areas of Family Law. They will be able to demonstrate an ability to work autonomously and cooperatively in a team environment and will be required to manage multifaceted matters of legal and factual complexity.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced family lawyer who has:
1. Significant leadership qualities
2. Experience providing supervision, training and mentoring of solicitors
3. Extensive family law experience including appearing as counsel
