plus 17% superAbout the RoleThe Executive Officer plays a pivotal role in supporting the Dean and senior leadership of Melbourne Law School, providing high-level coordination across governance, operations, and strategic initiatives.
This dynamic position encompasses complex stakeholder engagement, project management, and the preparation of key documentation, including correspondence, reports, and agreements.
The role is instrumental in facilitating faculty governance arrangements, supporting global engagement, and ensuring the seamless execution of executive priorities.
With a remit that spans policy development, research, and high-level communication, the Executive Officer exercises sound judgement, discretion, and diplomacy in navigating competing priorities and delivering timely, high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.Your ResponsibilitiesYour responsibilities will include:Overseeing governance arrangements, providing expert advice, coordinating key meetings, ensuring policy compliance, and maintaining the Faculty Governance Framework.Managing operations and projects, leading and mentoring staff, drafting agreements, coordinating recruitment and awards, overseeing communications, and addressing operational challenges.Conducting research and analysis, preparing reports, briefing notes, and legal documents, evaluating governance matters, and advising on executive priorities, university regulations, and strategic opportunities.Facilitating executive communication, drafting correspondence and speeches, handling confidential information, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, and supporting the Dean's engagement with the legal profession and broader academic community.Who We Are Looking ForYou are a highly organised and proactive professional, adept at navigating complex and fast-paced environments with confidence and discretion.
