Edmiston Jones is a renowned multidisciplinary architectural practice located on the NSW South Coast for over 35 years. We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Landscape Architect to join our dynamic team of 20+ professionals, including architects, interior designers, landscape architects, and support staff.
The Role As this position is envisaged as a long-term career move, the start date can be negotiated in the first half of 2025. It is a full-time role offering the option to work from either our Batemans Bay, Nowra, or Wollongong studios. As a Senior Landscape Architect, you will be integral to our collaborative team, working towards our purpose of creating extraordinary built environments that are sustainable and sensible. The inclusion of Senior Landscape Architectural skills within the team reinforces our holistic and consultative approach to design that considers external space from concept to construction. This position offers significant opportunities for career progression within our practice for the right candidate.
Qualifications and Experience Relevant qualifications in Landscape Architecture including existing RLA status or eligible to apply for registration.Seven to ten years of experience in the discipline, with a strong background in site assessment, design, and project management.Valid Australian Driver's Licence and access to personal transport.Required Skills Sensitivity to the design of human scaled external spaces.A wide knowledge of plant species, particularly in a coastal environment.Highly experienced integrating landscape spaces with civil works and designing for accessibility.A sound knowledge of external materials, furniture and construction.An appreciation of Connection to Country.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Proven ability to perform under pressure and manage design project budgets.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to plan and prioritise effectively.Knowledge of applicable Australian Standards and Codes.Key Responsibilities Manage landscape architecture projects from concept through to construction.Contribute to a holistic and consultative design approach.Oversee site assessments, design development, specification writing, and contract administration.Manage project budgets and ensure high-quality outcomes.Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members.Apply and uphold relevant Australian Standards and Codes.Develop new business opportunities over time.Advocate for sustainability both within and outside our firm.How to Apply To apply, please send your CV and a portfolio of your work (no larger than 10MB in PDF format) to ****** by COB 31 January 2025.
