The Role:
This APS6 Data Analyst role sits within a financial compliance area. The team is responsible for investigating large sets of data to detect non-compliance, anomalies, and potential fraudulent activities. You'll be working as part of a larger team, led by an EL2, which means there's an obvious career path available in the team.
Your role will be mainly focused on analysis, but there is also a component of stakeholder engagement with internal staff. They mainly use SQL, Power BI, and Excel, but there is also the need for expertise within Python or R for more intense scrutiny of the data.
This role is available as a non-ongoing contract for up to 12 months initially. They offer 2 days WFH for their employees in the branch. At the APS6 level you will also be supervising an APS5 staff member.
Your Skills and Experience:
First and foremost, you must be an Australian Citizen and hold a current Baseline clearance .
You also need to demonstrate competency with SQL, Power BI, and Excel. Expertise with Python and/or R is highly desirable for this role. If you have experience with either of these programming languages but only hold a baseline clearance, please do not be put off from applying.
Good communication skills and initiative are also important for this role.
