This role is pivotal in ensuring the operational readiness and mission success of the state-of-the-art Cape Class Patrol Boats.What’s Involved:Maintain the Cape Class engineering support contract plans and documentation.Inspire and manage the team to deliver required outcomes.Review Cape Class Engineering Support plans and processes annually.Maintain the certification of the Cape Class.Manage the provision of engineering advice.Maintain the configuration management of products.Control changes to the configuration baselines.Maintain the integrity of temporary changes to the configuration baselines.Support the provision of Technical Instructions.Execute engineering investigations in a timely manner.Ensure the Cape Class remains in class with DNV.GL.Confirm engineering advice is correct and provided on time.Deliver configuration management requirements for the Cape Class ISS contract.Develop engineering change proposals for changes to the functional, allocated, and physical baselines.Manage Requests for Deviations associated with temporary changes to the physical baselines.Prepare technical directives or technical acquaints for client release.Complete engineering investigations on time and within budget.Coordinate Cape-specific engineering meetings with the customer.Maintain effective relationships and communications with ABF and RAN technical points of contact.You’ll need:Essential:Engineering DegreeCapable of achieving CEng/CPEng5+ years’ experience in a sustainment engineering leadership role, preferably within defenceKnowledge of asset management standards, systems, and processesKnowledge of configuration management systems and processesCapable of achieving Level 3 Authorised Engineering Authority delegation under the Navy Technical Regulatory System or equivalentStrong application of technical risk management and safety systemsStrong management skills and team building capabilityComplex problem-solving skills.Effective communication skillsCompetent with Microsoft Office and standard engineering softwareWhy Austal:Competitive compensation and benefits package.Professional development and training opportunities.A supportive and dynamic work environment.Opportunities for career advancement within our growing organisation.Our global team is guided by a universal set of values that describe the focus of our efforts.
