BEAR Scotland is looking for Skid Resistance Technicians based in Perth and Stepps to join our Planned Maintenance teams.The successful applicants will assist in the collation and interrogation of data collected whilst carrying out on site surveys in relation to CS 228 and griptester programmes, as well as undertaking other duties such as detailed walked visual condition surveys.Duties of the role include: Carry out walked and driven surveys to collect and collate skid resistance data on completed works and the existing trunk road network, working to the CS 228 and Griptester programmes Assist the Planned Maintenance management team in the processing, interrogation and reporting of the data collected Calibrate and use measurement equipment as per manufacturer's instructions Comply with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures that form part of the company's Integrated Management Systems.Assist Planned Maintenance management team with other activities as required The role requires a willingness to accommodate flexible programmes of work to best suit the needs of the task, and also requires postholders to work/stay away from home when required.Applicants must: Hold a full standard driving license Possess good IT/tablet skills Have a basic understanding of small mechanical/electrical devices Additional Qualifications and Experience which are desirable but not essential include: A Civil Engineering Qualification Experience of undertaking inspections and/or walked/driven surveys in a highway maintenance context, and in particular use of Pavement Management Systems Experience in driving 3.5t vehicles The closing date for applications is 1 November 2024.#J-18808-Ljbffr
