ANNAPOLIS VALLEY REGIONAL CENTRE FOR EDUCATION SPARE BUS DRIVERS PART TIME FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULEWage: $26.26/hr Job Overview Individuals who enjoy driving and working with children may be interested in working as a Spare Bus Driver! Spare School Bus Drivers are required on an "as needed" basis to support operations in the Annapolis Valley Centre for Education, throughout West Hants, Kings and Annapolis Counties. School buses travel on paved and unpaved roads in a variety of weather conditions.Spare Bus Drivers are on call for a part-year (during September - June) and part-time (5 hours per day) and typically drive a morning and/or afternoon run for instructional days. They may also opt to drive hours for extra- or co-curricular events. Responsibilities Safely drive school buses with air brakes on assigned routes and extra-curricular trips.Ensure the safety and discipline of passengers.Perform daily routine maintenance including cleaning and washing.Conduct pre-trip inspection of the vehicle.Comply with all AVRCE and government policies, regulations, and legislation. Minimum Requirements Spare Bus Drivers must be a minimum of 19 years of age, have a current Nova Scotia Operator's License Class 2B with air brake endorsement, a clean driving record, and up-to-date medical and vision tests.
