KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:You will collaborate with a team of highly experienced engineers and project managers, engaging with our local, interstate, and global operations. This position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
Leading technical aspects of modelling, analysis and design of Power Converter Systems (inverter-based generation)Providing expert technical advisory and engineering services for grid-connected and off-grid power generation systems.Delivering high-quality technical reports and documentation.Fostering client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.Collaborating in cross-functional teams to provide technical due diligence support for transactions.Working on projects focusing on:Steady state analysis, i.e. load flow and fault level studiesDynamic analysis, i.e. frequency and voltage stability studiesHarmonic analysis including power quality and filter design studiesGrid code compliance reviews for generators, energy storage systems and loadsWide area power systems studiesProtection co-ordination studiesRMS and EMT Modelling for power system studiesMathematical modelling and simulations of power plant controlsABOUT YOU:Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering with additional qualifications in power systems engineering highly regardedMinimum 5-10 years industry experienceExperience working with distributed energy resources (especially wind, solar and BESS) in the National Electricity GridEssential experience in developing models/modelling and reviewing outputs in PSS/E, PSCAD.Advantageous experience in DSA Tools, PowerFactory, Matlab, RTDS, Fortran &/or manipulating these packages using programming languages such as Python.Knowledge of Australian grid codes is desirable.Familiarity with Australian and international safety and electrical rules, regulations and standardsStrong understanding of power system studies including generator performance standard studies, transient stability, fault analysis, load flow, protection design and an ability to assess power quality issuesStrong communication and leadership skillsProven ability to work independently and collaborativelyExperience in proposal development and strategic pursuitsAnalytical mindset with sound judgment and problem-solving abilitiesEmployee Benefits:Flexible work arrangementsPaid parental leaveSalary packagingPurchased leavePrivate Health Care discountsWellbeing programs and discountsEducation assistance and personal career developmentThink you know Ampcontrol?
