The Aged Care Department is accredited for 2 Advanced Trainee positions, each of 12 months duration. The successful applicant will be working with of a team of junior doctors and Consultants with potential rotations including the Royal Hobart Hospital Older Persons Unit, the Orthogeriatrics liaison service, the RHH Consults service, Jasmine Unit (at the Royal Fagan Centre, focusing on rehabilitation in patients with BPSD) and P1/P3 (multidisciplinary rehabilitation). Preferences for rotations will be discussed between the trainees and Director of Clinical Teaching in Aged Care prior to commencement, considering educational objectives.
The position is suitable as core training for Advanced Trainees in Geriatrics or non-core training for Advanced Trainees in General Medicine, Rehabilitation Medicine, Palliative Care or Emergency Medicine.
Salary
$97,946 - $138,593 per annum + 11% superannuation + access to salary packaging
1. Salary range is in accordance with Salaried Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2019
2. *Please note that Salaried Medical Practitioners Agreement is currently under negotiation
3. Relocation and commencement support available up to $15,000 for approved appointees

Duties
The Advanced Trainee is responsible for the day to day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital and provides after-hours emergency cover at the hospital as required.
Essential Requirements
4. General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
5. Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).
