Reporting to the Dean of Senior Years (10-12), the Head of House works closely with the Dean and the Head of Barr Smith Campus in fostering a nurturing environment for students through supportive relationships, systems and structures that ensure the highest levels of pastoral care. Key areas of responsibility include:Establishing effective relationships with students, classroom and Home Group teachers, College leaders and professionals both academic and pastoral, student Clan leaders and parents;Role modelling professional behaviours while developing and implementing a pastoral care program and approach that meets group and individual student needs, is in line with the College Strategic Plan and promotes the development of positive relationships; Planning, managing, documenting and reporting across all aspects of the portfolio and contributing to the strategic and administrative planning for the College;Ensuring the delivery of a contemporary, relevant and student-centred education through caring classroom environments that foster independent, resilient young people with a positive sense of self;Planning and coordinating clan celebrations and meetings and mentoring Clan leaders.Applications are invited from emerging or proven school leaders with experience in wellbeing methodology and current teaching practice. Appropriate tertiary qualifications, registration or ability to gain registration to teach in South Australia, current Working with Children Check (WWCC), highly developed interpersonal skills, innovative thinking skills complemented by warmth, diplomacy and professionalism will be important. A genuine commitment to girls' education and affinity with the vision of Seymour College will be vital.
