The Role The Team Leader will play a key leadership role in ensuring operational efficiency and supporting legal and administrative teams. Core responsibilities include: Managing a team of 10-15 administrative staff, ensuring optimal performance, engagement, and professional growth. Setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and conducting performance evaluations. Allocating resources to meet practice group needs while maintaining high service quality. Leading initiatives for process improvement and championing new tools and services. Acting as a liaison between the practice group and business services, including IT, facilities, and HR. Overseeing recruitment, performance management, and career development for support staff. Supporting partners with stakeholder engagement and operational metrics. This role also involves stepping in for legal support tasks when necessary and handling stakeholder interactions on behalf of senior management. The Candidate The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes: Prior legal experience, preferably with a background as a Legal Assistant. Proven experience managing a team of 10-15 staff members. Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience managing performance, coaching, and conducting career and remuneration discussions. HR experience or a blend of legal support and HR skills is highly desirable. Resilient, professional, and capable of handling sensitive situations with empathy and a collaborative approach. Impeccable attention to detail and strong communication skills. Ability to maintain calm under pressure and navigate complex workplace dynamics effectively.
