Consultant in Geriatric Medicine
We are seeking a Consultant in Geriatric Medicine to be based in Rockhampton, Queensland.
Rockhampton is a regional city that offers an ideal lifestyle and is the southern gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, with 300 days of sunshine a year.
The health service provides healthcare to Central Queensland, covering a catchment area of approximately 250,000 people, expected to continue growing.
Responsibilities
* Maintain commitment to Central Queensland (CQ) Health values and deliver services that strive for safety, quality, clinical, and operational outcomes.
* Contribute to the full scope of geriatric services including Acute, Subacute, Community, Outpatient, and Interim Care.
* Manage complex behavioural patients, provide consultation services across Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS), lead patient journey/discharge planning activities, and participate in the Orthogeriatric service.

There is a strong emphasis on strengthening the 'grow your own' medical workforce with an active Medical Education Unit and registrar training as a major focus within the health service.
Essential Criteria
* Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Be a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA (ABIM certified), or New Zealand.
