About the branch
The Corporate Services branch provides critical strategic and operational support services to ensure the continual success and advancement of the VGSO. Balancing an appreciation of the complexities and nuances of the public sector, along with the requirements of operating in a competitive legal services environment, Corporate Services delivers proactive, effective and efficient services to VGSO's internal and external clients. Functions within Corporate Services include but are not limited to; Finance, Information, Communication and Technology (ICT), Knowledge Management and Business Support and Administration.
About the role
We are seeking a Finance Officer to provide efficient accounting/finance support to the Finance Team and to maintain elements of the VGSO's practice management system. The primary objectives of this role will be to:
6. Maintain the billing requirements of VGSO, including liaising with clients and necessary requirements
7. Generate invoices, account statements and other accounts receivable functions as required
8. Support the VGSO Accounts Payable function
9. Investigate and resolve any irregularities or enquires, both from an Accounts Payable and Account Receivable perspective
10. Assist in providing timely and accurate monthly financial reports and reconciliations Liaise with VGSO branches (and clients as required) in order to provide appropriate financial reports to assist with their internal reporting requirementsReview existing finance-related processes, highlight and implement efficiencies where applicableProactively contribute to establishing and maintaining finance process documentationOther duties as required
Skills and experience
11. Proven experience in a similar role with tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting or a related field
12. An ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
13. Well-developed time management and prioritisation skills
14. Strong track record of providing service excellence and continuous improvement
15. Experience within a legal or professional services would be highly regarded
