In the role of Project Engagement Advisor, you will contribute to the efficient delivery of the Central Queensland Region's Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP) by providing strategic communication services to technical and professional staff for community engagement, media relations, issues management, public affairs and stakeholder relationship management.
Some of your responsibilities will include: Coordinate community engagement for QTRIP projects in the district, including providing project managers with ongoing strategic communications advice, and developing and implementing communication strategies.
Develop, plan and implement communication strategies, activities, procedures and policies that assist in the delivery of QTRIP and related project outcomes.
Manage the preparation of communications materials for QTRIP projects, including researching and writing media releases, ministerial briefings, newsletters, flyers, display materials and project documents.
Provide communication advice and support to the District Director, project managers and other staff in the areas of media and issues management, risk assessment, community engagement and communication, to support delivery of QTRIP.
Preparation of communication materials, including research and writing media enquiries and releases, ministerial briefings, newsletters, flyers, display materials, speech notes and other communication material for the Ministers Office and senior management.
Develop, plan and manage key communication activities such as displays, community events, road openings or commissioning, roadshows, media opportunities, and other events as determined by the district or region.
Maintain a high degree of integrity and confidentiality of information, Q TRIP and related project data and correspondence in accordance with departmental standards and records management procedures.
Lead and coach customer and stakeholder staff, ensure appropriate skill sets and training needs are identified and developed.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions A current Class 'C' Drivers Licence Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.

Demonstrated knowledge of issues/reputation management and provides advice to establish and maintain mutual understanding between the department and its stakeholders.
