Job Description:
The Production Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and improving manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness in the production of precision testing equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes for precision testing equipment.
* Work closely with design and R&D teams to ensure products are designed for manufacturability.
* Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
* Troubleshoot production issues and develop corrective actions to minimise downtime.
* Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements related to precision testing equipment manufacturing.
* Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for production processes.
* Identify and implement automation and process improvements to enhance production capacity.
* Conduct root cause analysis for defects and implement preventive measures.
* Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure consistent product quality and compliance with specifications.
* Train and support production staff in new technologies, processes, and best practices.
* Work with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
* Monitor production metrics and implement strategies to achieve efficiency targets.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
* 1-2 years of experience in a production engineering role, preferably in the precision equipment manufacturing industry.
* Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, electrical wiring, automation, and quality control principles.
* Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
* Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and manufacturing-related software (ERP/MES systems).
* Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 9001.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Skills:
* Knowledge of precision testing equipment design and manufacturing.
* Experience in automation and robotics in a manufacturing environment.
* Certifications in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Project Management.
