In this role, you will report directly to Head of Fraud, Credit and Control Services (FCCS) and will effectively and adequately scope, manage and reduce WPB's (Wealth and Personal Banking) exposure towards undue risk, whilst maximizing loss mitigation and creating a sustainable culture in order to support such activities. You will be responsible for designing and embedding a robust control framework, leading and performing line 1 assurance activities and being trusted adviser to the business. Your main responsibilities will include: Ensuring sound processes are in place to minimize operational risk in WPB business and form adequate control in the 'First Line of Defence' Establishing appropriate operational controls based on risk assessments to ensure that the Group's Operational Risk Management Framework is met and fully adhered to Designing and implementing the controls assurance program to monitor, review and test effectiveness of the control environment across WPB. Leading and conducting high quality controls assurance activities, thematic reviews, identify issues and make recommendations to improve the overall control environment, including controls automation. Building a high performing team, with clear professional development opportunities and succession planning. Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: Extensive leadership and management experience in Risk, Compliance and Assurance functions within financial services industry. Demonstrated ability to build inclusive culture, motivate and coach a high performing and diverse team. Demonstrate a strong commercial acumen with a desire to base decisions on data and business value. Good understanding of operational risk and controls, preferably gained through experience in front line and risk roles. Excellent communication, influencing and problem solving skills. Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
