We have regular opportunities in the Brisbane &/or greater QLD region and are seeking experienced Civil Roadworks Supervisors - interested in joining us for initial 1 - 2 year Assignments with a view to extensions &/or ongoing roles with a view to transition from a Civil Supervisor to a TMR 'Pre-Qualified Civil Roadworks / Structures Inspector' / Client Side for TMR, Councils or Consultants.
The purpose of these roles are to help deliver the construction of roadworks projects to the Department of Transport and Main Roads' (TMR) quality specifications & standards.
Responsibilities:
• Use knowledge of TMR policies, standards and specifications and be able to read, understand and interpret technical documents & standards;
• Keen observation skills to identify conforming &/or 'non-conforming' Road Construction materials & practices.
• Confident using a mobile phone &/or tablet to take, store & upload photo's to Gov't portals (Cloud storage).
• Prepare written documents including daily diary & reports;
• Communicate with all stakeholders and keep them informed of progress and quality of works; and
• Provide effective administration and documentation as required;
• Provide a professional commitment to the health and safety of staff, contractors and site visitors in line with company policy;
• Computer skills in Microsoft Windows operating system, MS Word, MS Excel, file management and email is a distinct advantage.
Mandatory Experience
The person applying for this role strictly must have a minimum of 5 - 7 years' practical experience in 'Road Works Construction' & at least 2 years crew supervision of Road Projects to TMR (or any other Australian Road Construction Authority) Standards.
Note: This 'Client Requirement' unfortunately rules out candidates from overseas, without any Australian Road Construction experience.
Must have a driver's licence and have access to own transport to/from home to site.
Preference for own mobile phone.
Preference will also be given to someone already living in Brisbane or Queensland &/or willing to relocate there. The proposed hours are nominally 40 per week, although no guarantee there won't be more or less hours due to project demands. Some Saturday and Sunday work may be required but this is anticipated to be minimal.
