Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Brisbane.
PDG helps clients reach their business goals through strong technical capabilities.
Our engineering and project management disciplines ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable delivery of projects globally across the metals and mining, infrastructure, and energy sectors.
As the successful candidate, you will:
Assist the Engineering Manager/Lead Mechanical Engineer with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, cost, and schedulePerform engineering calculations for hydraulic systems, conveying systems, and equipment sizing for mechanical equipmentPrepare technical specifications and design criteria based on statutory requirements, industry standards, and client/project requirementsPerform package engineering for the complete package life cycle – preparing technical documents, technical bid evaluations, and vendor data managementProvide input to 3D models and 2D mechanical drawingsParticipate in and contribute to design reviews.You will bring to the role: BSc/BEng in Mechanical Engineering5-10 years of experience working on multidiscipline engineering projectsGood communication, interpersonal, planning, and organizational skillsAbility to complete tasks independently and supervise junior team members as requiredWorking knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and codes pertinent to the mechanical engineering disciplineAbility to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team and coordinate mechanical activities between disciplinesRegistration as a professional engineer preferredHaving a can-do attitude, flexible and willing to learn new thingsTo be eligible to apply, you must be an Australian/New Zealand citizen, hold permanent residency status, or have a Visa that entitles you to work in Australia.
