Mental Health, Drugs, and Alcohol Services (MHDAS)
MHDAS delivers integrated and recovery-oriented mental health, drugs, and alcohol assessment, treatment, and community support to individuals within the Barwon region experiencing or at risk of experiencing mental health and drug & alcohol issues, along with their families.
Our service is internationally recognized for innovative clinical programs and integrated models of practice that are client-centered, accessible, and family-inclusive.
About the Role
This part-time opportunity (0.6 EFT) is suitable for recently graduated or experienced psychiatrists who can contribute to our Aged Psychiatry Service (APS) Team. The APS Team provides psychiatric services to consumers aged 65 and above in various settings, including community, consultation-liaison, residential aged care facilities, and old-aged inpatient units.

Key Requirements of the Role:
* Provide leadership in the provision of high-quality psychiatric services to consumers.
* Act as a delegate of the authorized Psychiatrist as defined in the Mental Health Act 2022 and contribute to the Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Program of the service.
* Applicants must hold the FRANZCP, be accredited as a supervisor by the RANZCP, and be registered with general or specialist medical registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
* Experience and interest in working in Old Aged Psychiatry are essential.
* An Advanced Certificate for Old Aged Psychiatry is highly desirable.
