TheSustainable Technician is a newly created opportunity based at ourKwinana Power Station. The objective of the role is to carry out ahigh level technical, commercial, and supervisory activitiesassociated with the operation, maintenance, and development ofSustainable Plant including wind turbines, diesel generators andbattery energy storage systems.
You will beresponsible for investigating and resolving complex technicalissues arising in the power generating plant, and undertake faultfinding, testing, and modification as required, liaising withSynergy’s control room and O&M contractors to ensureoptimum plant operation.
Keyresponsibilities of the role include :
1. Provide advice, make recommendations, and key decisions on the operations and maintenance requirements of diverse power generating and storage plant with respect to, electrical, C&I and Communications in conjunction with Engineers
2. Plan, organise and carry out fault finding, testing, commissioning, and maintenance on electrical, Control & Instrumentation and Communications plant
3. Carry out technical inspection, prepare reports with recommendations and/or arrange necessary action, assess and recommend modifications to plant and operations/maintenance procedures
4. Management of permits in accordance with permit to work systems, prepare/review/approve switching program, perform High Voltage and Low Voltage switching to allow for outages, maintenance activities or in emergency situations.
5. Supervise, coordinate, and check works carried out by staff, contractors, and consultants.
Whatyou’ll bring:
6. Certificate IV or above in relevant discipline
7. A trade certificate in the relevant discipline
8. WA Electrical Workers License
9. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Power Station operation and/or maintenance experience in Wind turbines, solar or battery systems
10. Strong knowledge of inspection/testing practices as well as experience in equipment maintenance/repair practices
