Job Description:
This is a challenging and rewarding role as part of a multidisciplinary team. As an Allied Health Clinician - Head to Health Phone Service (Central Intake and Referral Service), you will deliver high-quality person-centred care to clients of all ages.
The successful applicant will be responsible for undertaking mental health assessments over the phone and referring individuals to appropriate mental health services Statewide or to other suitable community or private sector services.
The Role:
* Provide advice and information to callers of the Head to Health Phone Service, including consumers, carers and health professionals, about mental health and alcohol and other drugs (AOD) services and supports.
* Complete mental health assessments over the phone using the Initial Assessment and Referral Decision Support Tool (IAR-DST) and refer individuals to appropriate services according to their identified level of care.
* Provide leadership, secondary consultation, case review and assistance to other clinical and non-clinical team members.
You Will Need:
* A minimum of two years post-graduate employment in a clinical area directly applicable to mental health services.
* Ability to build rapport to manage sensitive and difficult situations in an empathetic manner.
* Demonstrated capability to establish and maintain relationships and partnerships to improve outcomes for clients, carers, and internal and external stakeholders.
