Job Title: EL1 Assistant Director Finance
**About the Organisation**
Randstad is currently a preferred partner with a reputable Federal Government organisation to recruit for the below role.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Lead and manage key elements of the Financial Reporting team, including overseeing month-end processes, reporting, risk assessments, controls, and balance sheet reconciliation reviews.
* Drive efficiency and improvements in the month-end reporting cycle, ensuring timely, accurate, and streamlined processes while fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the finance team.
* Coordinate the monthly close of the General Ledger and reporting activities, ensuring alignment with the organisation and Scheme, while maintaining the centralised ledger journal posting system.
* Take charge of the preparation of financial statement notes and schedules, while liaising with the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) on audit-related matters.
* Manage relationships with critical stakeholders, including internal and external auditors, business partners, and other key contacts.
* Oversee the entire lifecycle management and reporting of the organisation's fixed assets, ensuring smooth collaboration between Corporate Shared Services and internal resources.
* Ensure financial compliance and accuracy for the organisation's property lease contracts, and oversee related financial entries in the lease accounting register.
* Create and present various financial and business documents, including reports, briefs, and correspondence, tailored for a wide range of audiences.
**Key Skills Required:**
* Qualified accountant with CA/CPA qualification
* Willing to obtain police check
* The ideal candidate should possess substantial and directly applicable experience in the fields of Financial Accounting, encompassing asset accounting and external agency reporting.
* Prior experience in Financial Reporting within a Commonwealth Government Environment is highly preferred.
