Aerospace Propulsion Engineering SpecialistCapagility Pty Ltd is looking to employ an outstanding Aerospace Propulsion Consultant with extensive aerospace propulsion system management expertise and experience. The Aerospace Propulsion Consultant will be part of our team of talented propulsion system specialists advising the Defence and commercial aerospace sectors.
The Aerospace Propulsion Consultant will lead and/or perform a wide range of tasks and projects relating to aerospace propulsion systems, examples of which may include:
Analysing spare engine requirements for new aircraft fleetsAdvising on engine support options (potential supplier options, contract models) for new & existing fleetsLife Cycle Cost or 'should cost' modelling of sustainment costs for new and existing aerospace propulsion system fleetsDeveloping engine support arrangements (new contracts, extensions)Evaluating engine sustainment proposals (new, extensions) for suitability & value for moneyImproving fleet management to enhance fleet availability and/or reduce support costsAdvising on technical or airworthiness issues affecting aircraft propulsion systemsEnhancing engagement between clients and their Industry partnersSupporting exploration of enhanced sovereign propulsion system support for AustraliaTransferring propulsion system technical and commercial expertise to client personnelLocation: The Aerospace Propulsion Consultant would mostly work from home/remotely. However, occasional travel may be required, and being based in Canberra, Sydney, Newcastle, Melbourne or Brisbane would be advantageous.
Minimum Requirements: A qualified practitioner with higher degree qualifications or relevant aerospace propulsion experience.At least 8 years of experience in the field of aerospace propulsion systems, including significant experience and knowledge in at least several of the following areas:managing the technical and commercial elements of aerospace propulsion systems;technical and commercial evaluation and acquisition of new aerospace propulsion systems;aerospace propulsion system fleet in-service management;aerospace propulsion system airworthiness management;aerospace propulsion system airworthiness regulation (Defence and/or civil);aerospace propulsion system engineering design;training development and/or delivery in relation to aerospace propulsion systems;propulsion systems sustainment budget and cost of ownership management;propulsion systems supplier relationship management;aerospace propulsion system sustainment cost modelling;negotiating with aerospace propulsion system OEMs and MROs for improved capability and/or cost of ownership outcomes; andaerospace propulsion system disposal coordination and management.Personal traits as follows:Exceptional analytical and technical abilities.Ability to collaborate and work effectively and respectfully with a diverse range of colleagues and clients.Professional curiosity - a thirst for acquiring and sharing knowledge.Self-starter who works well under broad direction with limited direct supervision.Can be relied on to deliver high quality output to meet agreed objectives and deadlines.Exhibits exemplary professional conduct and will be an outstanding representative of Capagility.Builds appropriate and effective business relationships.Possesses and displays professional courage and Integrity.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Highly competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.Australian Citizen and is authorised to work in Australia.Currently holds, or is eligible for, a Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) Security Clearance through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA).Bachelor of Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.Additional formal (eg post-graduate) qualifications relating to aerospace propulsion systems, aviation management, commerce, economics and/or business management.Experience in providing professional consulting or advisory services to client agencies.Chartered Professional Engineer status with Engineers Australia.Experience in the Australian Defence environment.Expertise/experience in space propulsion or hypersonic propulsion.Knowledge of Commonwealth Procurement Rules and Defence procurement and contracting policies and procedures.Who is Capagility Pty Ltd?
