Our client is a community-owned organisation responsible for managing rental properties provided to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people living in and around Albury Wodonga.
This subsidised social housing provides much needed shelter to families and individuals at risk of homelessness.
You will be responsible for service delivery of high-quality tenancy and residential property management for Koori families, ensuring that this is carried out ensuring relevant legislation, regulations, organisational policies, and procedures are followed.
The Housing Officer will provide outstanding customer service to tenants and will also manage the related property maintenance and portfolio administrative functions.
The role will entail:
* Managing properties for Aboriginal tenants who are eligible for community housing
* Assisting with applications, intake, and assessment of housing eligibility
* Identifying and supporting tenants at risk of homelessness by providing appropriate referrals
* Administering the housing program in accordance with established policy and procedures and report to management as required in relation to all housing matters
* A demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, their culture and issues that affect them today
* Tenancy management and collection of rental payments online and face to face
* Preparation of monthly reporting to the Executives
