To our geologists, what they do is not a job, but a passion. Is this you?Ideally, you will have these capabilities and experience in your toolkit:
rig supervision and logging;
assisting with project planning and execution;
ability to work with minimal supervision
excellent written and verbal communication skills;
experience liaising with drilling contractors and field personnel'
some experience with standard geological database packages, data interpretation and reporting skills;
safety focus to drive a positive safety culture in the field and promote a NO HARM approach to undertaking tasks;
assisting with project planning and execution;
diverse commodity experience
experience working in remote locations, for example Papua New Guinea.
To be considered you will need:
flexibility to work in field for 2-week stints;
tertiary qualification (BSc or Higher) in geology or geoscience;
5 years or more experience in an Exploration Geologist role;
current Australian manual driver's licence;
4WD training and hold certificate of completion;
current Australian remote first aid certificate (including current CPR);
National Police Clearance;
ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen; and
ability to work long periods in remote environments.
