The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef (Banquet Kitchen) to join our culinary team. As a key member, you will collaborate with our Executive Chef to deliver exceptional dining experiences across our large-scale Conference & Events operations.
About the Role
1. Leadership and Training
o Supervise, train, and develop kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-energy working environment.
2. Culinary Excellence
o Oversee and uphold food quality and hygiene standards in our Banqueting kitchen operations.
3. Menu Development
o Collaborate with the Executive Sous Chef to assist in menu preparation.
4. Kitchen Efficiency
o Manage inventory, order supplies, and minimize waste to optimize kitchen efficiency.
5. Interdepartmental Collaboration
o Facilitate and promote a collaborative interdepartmental work environment throughout the hotel.
6. Client Satisfaction
o Collaborate with the Conference & Events Planning team to ensure clients' visions are met and exceeded.
About You
1. Experience and Qualifications
o Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume banquet setting.
2. Leadership and Communication
o Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to delegate effectively and inspire a team.
3. Fitness and Safety
o Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene regulations aligned with HACCP.
4. Teamwork and Adaptability
o Strong ability to effectively interact and communicate with staff, management, and vendors.
5. Performance Management
o Proven ability to design and manage efficient staffing schedules, optimizing team performance.
6. Stock Management
o Demonstrated experience in efficiently managing stock levels and overseeing invoicing processes.
7. Pressure Tolerance
o Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
8. Culinary Passion
o A passion for delivering exceptional food experiences and contributing to a cohesive team.
9. Culinary Education
o Culinary qualification (preferred) or equivalent work experience in a similar role.
