Bordertown Memorial Hospital’s Charla Lodge Aged Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Worker to join our team on a casual basis.
Role Overview
As a Personal Care Worker at Charla Lodge, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. Your primary responsibilities will include providing direct client services such as bed making, bathing, personal hygiene, grooming, and maintaining mobility. You will also be involved in laundry, cleaning equipment, and assisting with the transportation of clients. Your contributions will support our mission to deliver high-quality, individualised care in a friendly and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
3. Personal Care: Assist residents with bed making, bathing, showering, personal hygiene, grooming, and maintaining mobility and dexterity.
4. Housekeeping Tasks: Perform laundry duties, clean equipment, and ensure a tidy and hygienic environment.
5. Client Assistance: Help with the transportation of clients as needed.
6. Communication: Report resident needs and any changes to the Registered Nurse.
7. Compliance: Adhere to all policies and procedures related to the Occupational Health, Safety, and Welfare Act and Risk Management.

8. Experience: Proven experience in a similar role, demonstrating the ability to exercise judgment and initiative in daily tasks.
9. Skills: Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and carers.
10. Confidentiality: Ability to use discretion and maintain strict confidentiality.
11. Cultural Sensitivity: Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
12. Technical Skills: Experience in using computer packages is essential.
13. Desirable: Experience working with aged, frail, or disabled persons in a community or hospital setting.
