We currently have an exciting opportunity for a driven, organised and experienced Estimation Manager for our Manufacturing team. Based out of our Head Office in Tonsley, Adelaide, this is a critical role for the ongoing success of our manufacturing division and is accountable for successfully and competently delivering accurate cost estimates and high-quality competitive submissions. As a member of the Manufacturing leadership team, you will lead the division's estimation and tendering team and use your technical understanding, project delivery skills, commercial and contractual knowledge to provide the best strategies to win work/bids. In conjunction with the wider Manufacturing team which includes Project Manager and Design Lead's, the Estimation Manager provides input into 'go/no go' evaluations of potential projects. The Estimation Manager is responsible for customer relationship and account management ensuring a continued relationship with SAGE and identifying new opportunities. They manage the sales process and develop project bids that best position SAGE to secure new business. Key responsibilities Lead and manage daily operations of the Manufacturing Estimation Team, ensuring technical compliance and value delivery. Analyse information, design solutions, and coordinate with internal/external parties, providing specialist support. Store and manage information from opportunity to handover, following SAGE CRM and Project workspace processes. Review and analyse large tender packages, contribute to estimating procedures, and recommend improvements. Collaborate with the General Manager on proposal review processes and source suppliers for cost reduction. Stay updated on Manufacturing workload, attend to CAD drawings, and perform accurate material take-offs. Conceptualise projects, gather relevant data, and incorporate risk strategies into bid processes. Ensure knowledge and capability of using the various estimation tools across LV SWB and SI (especially Expert Estimation) is current and to a high level. Lead progress, review, and handover meetings, ensuring effective use of estimation tools. Implement 'Bid to Win' strategies and conduct audits to capture lessons for continuous improvement. Essential skills and experience Demonstrated people management and leadership experience. Minimum 5 years' estimation experience in Switchboards and Electrical automation control cabinets. Engineering degree or qualified Registered Electrical Worker. Experience in estimating for electrical switchboards, control systems, power distribution, and installations. Knowledge of Australian and New Zealand standards. Strategic approach to winning work, with clear articulation of the SAGE value proposition. Proactive self-starter, building strong client relationships. Ability to understand complex information and appreciate project delivery and contractual requirements.
