Job summary: Our Civil Engineers are responsible for the effective coordination and control of engineering works through activities of technical, engineering, inspection, scheduling, planning, survey, procurement, and quality control based on Martinus Rail standards. The Civil Engineer is responsible for contributing to the safe and successful completion of the project on schedule, within budget and to the specified quality. Key job tasks and responsibilities: Coordinate with Managers and Superintendents on construction planning, temporary works, scheduling, and status of the project. Track progress reports related to schedule and cost as required by the Project / Construction Manager. Provide general technical assistance to supervisory personnel and leading hands. Understand and communicate engineering documents and drawings for field personnel. Manage procurement, field construction engineering and allocation of task with supervisor and managers. Compile monthly reports from information received from managers and superintendents. Interact with other Engineers/Managers to review, implement, and manage the construction issues. Use technical knowledge to provide advice on best practice construction methods. Oversee the planning and coordination of activities of designated project including site labour, plant, equipment, and materials. Ensure the construction related aspects of the project meet or exceed the required performance targets in relation to time, cost, and quality. Use technical knowledge to provide advice on planning, the use of materials, resources, components, or systems within the project. Confer with project personnel for technical advice and to resolve problems. Communicate and escalate risk and opportunity as required to best protect the interest of Martinus Rail. Minimum Skills and Qualification required: Bachelor Degree or Equivalent (Civil Engineering or Construction Management or similar); Formal studies in Project Management advantageous; Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and confidence in using relevant software and devices; Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others; Ability to establish and steward overall delivery work plans; Working knowledge of all relevant regulatory and legislative requirements; Competent in planning and organising work schedules; Working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementation of same; Clear communication – verbal and written; Minimum Experience Required: At least 5 years relevant work experience including at least 2 years' experience in a track construction/engineering environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
