Working closely with the Project Site Team and client, you will ensure that Safety compliance requirements are adhered to.Provide assistance in the development of Project Risk Register / Hazard LogSet up Project team meetings to complete the monthly Project Risk Register reviews with the 3 week look ahead, track the updates and consult with sub-contractorsConsult with site teams in safety related advice with day-to-day activitiesProvide assistance in the developing of weekly toolboxes and delivering to the work groupsUnderstand and Implement policies and procedures at a site levelMonitoring site activities to ensure WHS procedures are in place as requiredAssist the project team with Construction Management Software compliance and data inputUndertaking internal safety inspections, observations and actionsAssisting project teams to develop solutions to internal safety inspection findingsLiaising with external / client safety representativesAssisting site teams to address external safety inspection findingsCollation of external / client safety inspection dataSWMS reviews (initial and periodic)Plant and equipment pre-start inspections reviewPlant paperwork collation and reviewAssisting site teams with site specific safety requirements including Traffic Control, heavy vehicle CoR compliance, Rail safety requirements.Ensuring site compliance with legislative requirements including; but not limited to WHS Act, WHS Regulation, CoP, Rail Safety Nat Law, NSW Health orders.Assisting site teams with toolbox talks, pre-starts, weekly site inspections, task observations and permitsGuiding site teams with regular upkeep of HSEQ registers i.e.
hazardous substances, fire equipment, equipment calibration etc.Partaking in project teams' meetings (internal / external)Undertaking emergency drills and assessment of mock drillsReviewing and updating site specific emergency evacuation plans and proceduresIncident reporting (internal and external through Construction Software Management where required)Qualifications and Experience:Qualification pathway to knowledge of the WH&S Act 2011, WH&S Regulation 2017, Rail Safety (Adoption of National Law) Regulation 2018, other relevant legislation, standards and associated obligations in the application of Safety in ConstructionDegree, Certificate IV or diploma in WHS or similar tertiary qualificationProficiency in Microsoft suite of programsPersonal Qualities:Capable of developing an understanding of client expectations and ability to form and maintain positive relationshipsStrong listening and communication skills with an ability to relate to people from a wide range of positions and backgroundsAbility to assist in the performance of team members towards the achievement of company goals and principlesAbility to effectively handle high stress environments with resilience and professionalism
