We are currently seeking a talented and fully qualified Boiler Maker to join our team located in Queanbeyan NSW. This is a physically demanding role, requiring considerable strength, coordination, and manual dexterity in order to complete the jobs. Candidates must possess the required various technical skills, such as the ability to weld, and work with a variety of tools.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Primary duties will be to work in the workshop, fabricating, cleaning and rebuilding equipment. The annual earnings for this position range from $70,000 - $80,000.
Your duties will include, however are not limited to, the following:
• Metal fabrication
• Boiler making and testing upon completion
• Reading and understanding of mechanical and workshop drawings/blueprints
• Casting, cutting, shaping, assembling and welding steel to construct and repair metal products/structures
• Completion of jobs in a quick, efficient and accurate manner with a high attention to detail, consistently meeting deadlines
• Perform general tool and equipment maintenance
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Meet quality standards, checking for defects at all stages of production
• Flexibility to perform other duties within the manufacturing environment, alongside manual work, when required
• Continuous stock-taking and reporting to the supervisor on a daily basis; and
• Engage in staff pre-start, toolbox, and safety meetings; while closely following safety procedures and accident-preventative behaviours
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this position you will require the following skills/experience:
• Fully Qualified Boiler Maker
• At least 3 years trade experience
• Experience with Mild steel, Stainless and Aluminium, Mobile Plant, Industrial Machinery, welding, oxy cutting, assembly and of mechanical components
• Able to work in a team environment
• Have own reliable transport to onsite locations around the ACT; and
• Possess a current forklift license
Certifications beneficial but not mandatory include:
• WHS White Card
• Asbestos Awareness; and
• any High-Risk accreditation
